Banff Upper Hot Springs’ hours of operation

Banff Upper Hot Springs’ hours are changing.

Effective Friday April 1, 2022, hours of operation are:

Daily

12 p.m. (noon) to 6 p.m.

Last entry is 5 p.m. daily

Visitor safety is of the utmost importance to Parks Canada. Lifeguards are critical to ensuring the health and safety of our guests, and ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the Upper Hot Springs.

From March 2020 until late-fall 2021, certification courses, including Standard First Aid, CPR and National Lifeguard Certificate, were cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This has created an industry-wide shortage of lifeguards and aquatic facility staff. Many aquatic facilities across Canada, including Banff Upper Hot Springs are operating at reduced capacities or not opening until they can staff appropriately.

Parks Canada is continuing to recruit and hire seasonal staff. Hours of operation at Banff Upper Hot Springs will increase when staffing levels allow.

Please be kind and respectful to staff as we make changes in our operation
