Banff Upper Hot Springs’ hours of operation

Banff Upper Hot Springs’ hours are changing.

Effective Thursday September 1, 2022, hours of operation are:

12 p.m. (noon) to 8 p.m.

Last entry is 7:30 p.m. daily

Visitor safety is of the utmost importance to Parks Canada. Lifeguards are critical to ensuring the health and safety of our guests, and ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the Upper Hot Springs.

First aid, CPR and National Lifeguard courses were cancelled for 18 months, limiting the pool of potential employees interested in entering or recertifying to work at an aquatic facility. This has created an industry-wide shortage of qualified lifeguards and many Canadian aquatic facilities, including Radium, Miette, and Banff Upper Hot Springs.

Many of our summer staff are university students, and will be returning to school ahead of the Labour Day weekend.

Parks Canada is continuing to recruit and hire seasonal staff. Hours of operation at Banff Upper Hot Springs will increase when staffing levels allow.

We thank you for your patience while we make changes in our operation.
